We Care Arts -  Grants Update

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news! We Care Arts has recently received several generous grants that will help us continue empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses through the transformative power of art and community.

The Transition To Work (TTW) program is a state-established initiative designed to assist students with special needs, ages 16–22, as they navigate the transition from high school to employment and independent living. At We Care Arts, we enhance this vital in-school program by offering weekly art classes that reinforce essential life and job skills.

We are deeply grateful to the following organizations for their support of TTW:

Together, these contributions ensure that students in TTW gain confidence, creativity, and practical skills that prepare them for brighter futures.

Our ArtWorks program, which provides opportunities for individuals to explore their creativity while building self-esteem and community connections, received a generous grant of $8,000 from the Elsa Heisal Sule Foundation. This support allows us to expand access to art education and continue fostering empowerment through artistic expression.

We Care Arts also operates a gift shop at Town & Country Shopping Center, where artwork created by our artist-clients is displayed and sold. Thanks to a grant of $3,000 from the Community Foundation of Kettering, we can cover rent expenses and keep this important space open. The shop not only showcases the talents of our artists but also provides them with meaningful opportunities to earn income and gain real-world experience.

Finally, we want to thank the Dor-wood Optimist Club, which contributed $237. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue our mission of inclusivity and empowerment through art.

We Care Arts could not do this work without the incredible generosity of our community partners. These grants strengthen our programs, sustain our spaces, and most importantly, enrich the lives of the individuals we serve.

Together, we are proving that art has the power to heal, inspire, and transform lives.
