We Care Arts' 2025 Artist-Client Picnic

Every year, the We Care Arts community comes together for a day filled with joy, laughter, and creativity at our annual Summer Picnic. This year was no exception, as we celebrated under the warm sun with our cherished artist-clients and their families.

Beating the Heat

This year's weather brought a classic summer day: bright and sunny with the heat turned up high. But fear not, as we had just the right solutions to keep everyone cool and comfortable. Inside the We Care Arts (WCA) facility, we set up a “chill down room” where attendees could escape the sun and enjoy a refreshing break. Outside, a mister provided a fine, cool mist, offering a welcome respite from the summer heat.

A Feast to Remember

No picnic is complete without delicious food, and this year City Barbeque provided a mouthwatering lunch. Guests enjoyed an array of savory delights, including tender chicken, succulent pork, creamy mac and cheese, crisp green beans, and tangy slaw. The meal was a hit, with everyone going back for seconds and savoring every bite.

Fun and Games

The sound of laughter filled the air as we engaged in friendly competition with a classic game of cornhole. For those looking to tap into their creative side, we organized a collaborative paint-by-number artwork. Each brushstroke contributed to a beautiful masterpiece that symbolized the collective spirit of our community.

Exciting Raffle

In addition to games and art, we held a raffle featuring three beautifully curated baskets. Excitement grew as tickets were drawn, and winners were announced. We had two of the artist-clients pick the winning tickets from a cup and they BOTH chose their own ticket! The baskets, filled with art supplies, added an extra layer of excitement to an already vibrant day.

A Community Effort

The success of our Summer Picnic was made possible by the support of Lori Housfeld, the incredible dedication of our entire staff and several volunteers. Their hard work and commitment ensured that every detail was perfect, making the day truly special for our treasured artist-clients and their families. Their efforts embodied the spirit of We Care Arts, where community and creativity thrive together.

As the day came to a close, we reflected on the wonderful memories made and the bonds strengthened. The We Care Arts Annual Summer Picnic was not just an event, but a celebration of our shared passion for art, community, and inclusivity. We eagerly anticipate next year's gathering and the joy it will undoubtedly bring.
