Outreach Updates From Outreach Coordinator,  Eylina Ogden

This past month, I had the opportunity to visit ten of our Transition to Work (TTW) schools and observe how our lessons are impacting students in the classroom. The TTW program is designed to equip students with essential skills for their future careers through a series of ten weekly art projects. During my visits, I learned how teachers have utilized these projects to help students find peace of mind in challenging times and develop job skills that will benefit them as they graduate. I would like to highlight the hard work these students are doing by showcasing some of their artwork below.

In April, our Outreach team continued partnerships with Eastway, OneFifteen, Daybreak, Miracle Clubhouse, YWCA Dayton, and the Kettering Cancer Center. This month, we engaged participants in several projects, including a relaxing salt watercolor painting requested by one participant at Eastway. At Daybreak, we were proud to assist participants in creating a large-scale painting that was displayed during their open house. We also had a wonderful time at the Miami County YMCA, where we created spring wreaths with the Seniors Group.

We look forward to more outreach opportunities as the weather warms up in May! If you are interested in having We Care Arts come to your organization or would like to learn more, please contact Eylina Ogden at eogden@wecarearts.com.
