Paper Mâché, Subtractive Sculpture, and Contemporary Sculpture Styles

Hello everyone!

I’m Lacey, the Art Curator at We Care Arts, and I’m here to share some updates for May.

During the month of April, our artist-clients have been exploring a wide range of sculpture techniques in their art classes. It’s been inspiring to see their creativity and skill flourish as they experimented with different materials and methods. Our instructors led engaging lessons in paper mâché, subtractive sculpture, and contemporary sculpture styles, offering something for everyone to connect with and enjoy.

Now, I’m thrilled to begin planning a special display at our Berkley Center to showcase the incredible work they've created. This display will not only highlight the diverse techniques they’ve learned but also celebrate their unique artistic voices. Stay tuned for more details.

I am also excited to share that our artist-clients will have their work on display at the Dayton Metro Library this June! I’m currently preparing a display for the Wilmington-Stroop Branch. This upcoming showcase will feature a variety of pieces created in our classes, reflecting the diverse talents and unique perspectives of each artist-client. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to engage with their work. We hope you’ll stop by to see and celebrate their amazing accomplishments!

Thank you for reading!
