Outreach Update: Daybreak, Broader Horizons and Brigid's Path

In January, our We Care Arts Outreach classes focused on building drawing skills and creating functional art pieces. At Daybreak, participants used black and white charcoal to create landscapes that explore depth and mood. Bryshawn P. attempted the project several times, learning new techniques along the way to ultimately create a drawing full of drama and contrast.

At
Brigid’s Path, participants used decoupage techniques to create a personalized coffee mug just in time to keep warm during the big snowstorm. Our Broader Horizons class enjoyed designing and painting a tote bag to carry belongings. Creating artwork that can be used and displayed on a daily basis helps participants to build pride in their artistic abilities.

We Care Arts Outreach is starting 2026 with 8 returning partners: Eastway, Daybreak, Brigid’s Path, Miracle Clubhouse, Kettering Cancer Center, Broader Horizons, Alzheimer’s Association, and the Dayton Metro Library. We are excited to see the Outreach Program continue to grow, and invite you to reach out if you think your organization may benefit from art lessons with a mindfulness focus! If you are interested in having WCA come to your organization or would like to learn more, please contact Eylina Ogden at eogden@wecarearts.com.
