May Outreach Updates

Spring is in full swing with our Outreach Programming! In April, Outreach participants from many partner organizations enjoyed painted flower pots inspired by the geometric patterns in Ancient Greek pottery.

The last week of April saw us returning to multiple branches of the Dayton Metro Library. Participants enjoyed painting their own tote bags; spring themes with bright colors and flowers were popular motifs.

Our Transition to Work students from the Centerville High School Integrated Transition Options Program (ITOP) are hard at work on an installation project for Wegerzyn Metro Parks. Students are using reclaimed aluminum cans to create a large-scale piece that shows the growth of a plant over time, from seed to full-grown tree. The completed sculpture will be placed in the Children’s Garden at Wegerzyn Metro Park as a part of their 20th Anniversary Celebration. The installation will be completed at the end of May.

Coming up this summer, we are excited to announce new partnerships with UMADOP of Dayton, AHEPA Senior Living, and Wright Memorial Library. Watch our newsletter for more information on these and other upcoming projects!
