Exciting Grant Announcements
Empowering Our Programs Through Generous Grants
Centerville High School ITOP Class
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community! Thanks to the generosity of several esteemed organizations and individuals, we have received significant grants that will greatly enhance our ongoing efforts. These funds will support Transition To Work and the Artist-Client Thanksgiving event.
Generous Support from Fred & Alice Wallace Charitable Memorial Foundation
First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fred & Alice Wallace Charitable Memorial Foundation for their incredible support. They have graciously awarded us a $10,000 grant, which will be directed towards our Transition To Work program. The TTW program, established by the state, is designed to assist students with special needs, aged 16 to 22, in their transition from high school to employment and independent living. We Care Arts supplements this vital in-school program by offering weekly art classes that reinforce essential life and job skills. These classes are provided at no cost to the students, schools, or districts.
Each participating student receives an individual bag containing all the necessary art supplies for their projects, along with a corresponding teacher bag. Additionally, WCA provides YouTube instructional video links for each art project in the kit, ensuring a comprehensive and accessible learning experience.
Dayton Rotary's Valuable Contribution
In addition to the Wellers' generosity, we are also honored to receive a $3,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Dayton. The Rotary's commitment to community service and improvement aligns perfectly with our mission. Their contribution will bolster the Transition To Work program, allowing us to enhance our outreach efforts and provide more comprehensive support to those in need.
Meijer's Support for the Artist-Client Thanksgiving
We are equally delighted to announce a generous $200 grant from Meijer, which will be used to support our annual Artist-Client Thanksgiving event. This cherished occasion brings together our artist-clients for a day of food, creativity and fellowship. With Meijer's support, we can ensure that this year's event is a memorable one, filled with artistic expression and a sense of community. The funds will help us provide materials, refreshments, and a warm, welcoming environment for all participants.
Thank You for Your Continued Support
These grants are more than just financial assistance; they are a testament to the trust and belief that these donors have in our mission. We are immensely grateful for their support, which empowers us to continue our work in making a difference in the lives of individuals living with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses.
As we move forward, we invite all members of our community to stay engaged and involved in our programs. Whether through volunteering, attending events, or simply spreading the word, your involvement is invaluable.
Thank you once again to Fred & Edna Weller, Dayton Rotary, and Meijer for their generous contributions. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive community.
