Together, We're Not Finished Yet

Dear Friends of We Care Arts,

What a night.

Together We Care was more than a gala. It was a room filled beyond expectation. Nearly 90 percent of those who RSVP’d showed up, far surpassing the usual 70–75 percent rule of thumb. And at the end of the evening, conversations continued long after the tables were being taken down.

That is what community looks like.

You could feel it across the rooms. In the laughter. In the bidding. In the way strangers became tablemates and tablemates became advocates.

As I shared that evening, our gathering was a living work of art. Not painted with brushes, but formed through compassion, generosity, and shared purpose. Each person brought their own perspective, and together something more powerful emerged. That spirit carried straight into the auction. Paddles went up. Bidding was spirited. And when the opportunity was offered to support our Creative Edge Scholarships directly, this community responded. Gifts were made in the room to ensure that our artist-clients can continue attending classes at no cost to them.

It was a beautiful reminder of what happens when one person steps forward. Others follow. 

But here is something important to know. 

The need does not end when the ballroom lights come up and the stage comes down. 

To keep every class free, We Care Arts must raise at least $1,500 per artist-client each year. That is $15,000 per class. With 19 classes each week and room to grow, our commitment requires ongoing support, especially as contract funding can fluctuate. 

If you were with us last Friday evening, thank you for helping create something beautiful. If you were not able to raise a paddle with us that evening, there is still time to be part of the picture. 

A full Creative Edge Scholarship of $1,500 helps to empower a year of someone’s life. A partial gift of $750, $250, or even $50 ensures supplies are stocked, studios remain safe and welcoming, and professional staff are present to guide both creativity and connection. 

The artwork, OUR artwork is not finished yet. Right now, each of us still holds the next brushstroke.
