For We Care Art’s Outreach, May brought the conclusion of our first large-scale community project and the beginning of our next initiative.

Our Transition to Work students from the Centerville High School Integrated Transition Program (ITOP) ended the school year by completing an art installation project featured at Wegerzyn Gardens Metro Park in the Children’s Discovery Garden. The sculpture titled “Keep Growing” depicts the life cycle of a tree from seed to seedling to full-grown plant, created from wood, paint, and reclaimed aluminum cans. This is an incredible accomplishment for our student artists; their artwork will remain on display at Wegerzyn for a full year! Make your way to Wegerzyn to enjoy this and many other artworks by community artists; don’t miss the QR code on our sign to enjoy a short art activity of your own!

We Care Arts Outreach is proud to announce an upcoming gallery display to be held at the Dayton Society of Artists from September 11th - 26th. The display titled “HEAR ME” will feature artwork from artist clients in our Outreach programs at Eastway, Promise to Hope, UMADAOP, and Brigid’s Path. Each participant will create 3 artworks for display, focused on exploring identity and sharing a piece of their own journeys through motherhood and SUD recovery.  This month, participants began work on a triptych-style painting, focusing on their past, present, and dreams of the future. Mark your calendars for the opening reception on September 11th, 2026, from 6-8 pm at the DSA.

We are looking forward to strengthening community partnerships and building new connections through our ever-expanding Outreach department. Please reach out to Eylina Ogden at outreach@wecarearts.org for further information on our Outreach programming.
