Curator's Corner by Lacey Lantz

Hello everyone!

I’m Lacey, the Art Curator at We Care Arts, and I’m here to share some updates for June.

Our artist-clients will have their work on display at the Dayton Metro Library, Wilmington-Stroop Branch, for the entire month of June! The exhibit features a wide range of work—from pieces created during our art history lessons to papier-mâché sculptures, subtractive sculptures, and contemporary styles.

We also have artwork on display at 10 Wilmington Place and Eudora Brewing Company!

Recently, our Production class was tasked with designing eye-catching plant tags and garden signs to invite visitors and artist-clients to interact with the garden on our back patio. This year, the Optimists Garden is expanding to provide more accessible opportunities to learn independent living skills.

We’re planning to grow both our footprint and vegetable yield, focusing on companion planting to make better use of our limited space. We’re also growing vegetables and herbs that pair well together for making salads and salsa. Additionally, we’ve added a sensory garden space, perfect for relaxation, mindfulness practice, and incorporating into art projects.

Thank you for reading!

Lacey
