Curator's Corner - April

Hello everyone,

I’m Lacey, the Art Curator here at We Care Arts, and I’m excited to share some updates for the month of April!

March was a busy and exciting month for our art displays. I’m grateful to the University of Dayton and the Brain Health Collective for inviting We Care Arts to showcase artwork at their Brain Health Symposium.

We also participated in the Gift of Down Syndrome Celebration at 2nd Street Market. This was our second year displaying art at this wonderful event, and I think it turned out great!

Our Production class completed their CityWide project, and I couldn’t be prouder of our artist-clients. They did an incredible job designing and painting with great attention to detail, truly capturing CityWide’s vision.

I’m also excited that we were asked to donate a painting to Wright State University's ArtsGala. It’s a beautiful piece, and I hope it helps raise funds for their art program. In total, I submitted eight pieces to local art exhibits in March.

I’ve also refreshed our displays at Eudora and Wholly Grounds. Eudora now features a bright yellow theme to welcome the warmer weather, while Wholly Grounds has been updated with some creative felt pieces.

I’m very happy to share that Dayton Live has invited us to display art in the Starbucks at the Schuster Center. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share local art in such a welcoming space.

Lastly, I’ve started an art curator Instagram account! If you’re interested in following along and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the art at We Care Arts, I’d love to have you join me there. Follow @artcuratorlacey on Instagram.

Thank you for your continued support of We Care Arts!
